Our Story
In the year 1894, Vaidyaraja Shree Nagindas Shah, put the foundation stone of Unjha Pharmacy on the occasion of Dhanvantri Jayanti, in a town named Unjha which is situated in the north province of Gujarat. Across 125 years back he started this company with a very Nobel goal in heart to enlighten the people of the world with the benefits of Ayurveda.
He studied and researched the old treatise of Ayurveda deeply. Besides this, to generate faith and positive inclination of peoples of India towards Ayurveda, he also distributed Ayurvedic medicines to the needy people, free of cost for a period of 10 years. Initially, he also distributed printed Ayurvedic literature among people to establish a recognition & reputation for Ayurveda in their mind & soul. He also published “BHARAT BHAISHAJYA RATNAKAR”, comprised of 5 volumes which contain details of 9598 Ayurvedic preparations. The publication is approved in schedule 1 of drugs and cosmetic act, 1940, and credited as an Ayurvedic reference textbook by the Central Government of India. The book is serving as a guide for veteran and upcoming Ayurvedic practitioners, Government agencies, and also for Ayurvedic Pharmacies. As stated earlier, Along with, he was also continuously engaged in the establishment of Unjha Pharmacy -A trusted Name for the country, in the field of Ayurveda.He was a visionary, whose vision was then carried forward by his son Vaidyaraja Shree Bhogilal Shah, He did not lose his patience and dignity even under pressure. Nothing could stop him from continuing this sacred work.
Unjha Pharmacy is the pioneer pharmaceutical company, who introduced the now very famous OTC (over the Counter) products in the market, namely, SHANKHAPUSHPI and SUNDARI SANJIVANI in the Indian sub-continent.
The legacy was later on carried forward by Shri Shailesh Shah, son of Shree Vaidyaraja Bhogilal Shah. The third generation efficiently handles the networking, marketing, manufacturing, management and modernization – taking Unjha Pharmacy to states like West Bengal, Chattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh among others.
Mr Sailesh Shah also laid the foundation of the Ayusiddh Health Care Pvt Ltd in May 2017 at Changodar in Ahmedabad to start a new beginning with a blend of knowledge and experience. The publication of another book, “BHAISHJYA SAR SANGRAH”, prior the publication of “ BHARAT BHAISHJYA RATNAKAR” ,
also received honored by the PRESIDENT OF INDIA H.E. MR. GYANI ZAILSINGH. This book also received honour again by the Chief Minister of Gujarat,
H.E. MR. Amarsinh Chaudhari, and the PRESIDENT OF INDIA, H.E. MR. SHANKAR DAYAL SHARMA.

Unjha Pharmacy, which is prevalent for 125 years, after intensive practice and research and development, in the year 1972, for the treatment of cancer, manufactured by a combination of classical medicines, which was kept in the patent product market named “Carcovin” now “Carsona”. Among the manufacturers of Ayurvedic medicines, Unjha Pharmacy is the first manufacturer to manufacture medicines for the treatment of cancer. For which the International Seminar on Holistic Management of Cancer, held in the year 1998, was honored with the award at the hands of Dr. Mukund Abhyankar, Dean of Tilak Ayurvedic College, Poona.
